Black Hall dates back to the 1500's and is set in its own parkland in a quiet Northumberland valley. The house is a peaceful Grade ΙΙ country house with far reaching views over the fields, woods and beyond to the moors. A few quoin stones are all that remain of the ancient peel tower that once stood watch over the valley below.
Our south facing rooms, each with en-suite bathrooms, are spacious, warm and comfortable with unique interiors and of course all come with flat screen televisions and all the other essentials.
We are within easy reach of Hadrian's wall, Kielder forest and the quiet sandy beaches of the east coast. Here the sleepy ruins of great castles and ancient battle fields can be found. For those after fell walking Blanchland, one of Englands prettiest villages, is a gentle hike straight out of the front door and across the rolling moors. Northumberland's vast wilderness and national parks make Black Hall the perfect retreat after a long day on the fells, walking, fishing or cycling. We are only three miles from the internationally renowned DeVere Slaley Hall golf course, which has a spa and health treatments. However, for those in search of the bright lights, Newcastle is a short 40 minute drive away.
We can by prior arrangment provide an evening meal and home made packed lunches for the hikers. The historic Abbey town of Hexham has the award winning 'Le Bouchon' restaurant and for traditional home cooked pub food The Dipton Mill is rather good. Taxis available on request.
We hope you enjoy your stay.
